God's generosity

We shoud not envy, but have we ever wondered why some people are blessed so much more than us, although we work at least as hard as them and live according to God's word as best we can?

What else do we need to do so we are blessed more?

"But he replied to one of them, 'Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? Take what belongs to you and go. I choose to give to this last worker as I give to you. Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity?' So the last will be first, and the first last." Matthew 20.13-16 ESV

Erica Wiggenham reminds us that God's "plan does not depend on [our] performance. It rests on [God's] promises."

His blessings come in many forms, not just material forms that we can see. So let us focus on living according to his plan, for there is great peace and joy in that. Often, God's blessings come unexpectedly and we do not realise them. For "God is good, all the time; and all the time, God is good."

"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5.18
