Sign and wisdom

"For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men." 1 Corinthians 1.22-25 KJV

We all have conscious and unconscious bias. We want God to reveal himself and his will through our view point of "signs" or "wisdom". We want God to fit our image of who and what God should be.

We think to ourselves: "if he is God, he will ..." or "God will never ...". Or we take a fragment of Bible verse and insist on our interpretation of it to fit our context or bias about who God "must be".

Like the story of the blind men and an elephant, we each think we are right. And the truth is, we can only know after we die when we see him face to face.

And before we get to that glorious day, let us have faith that "the foolishness of God" and "the weakness of God" are sufficent for us.
