Do not be outdone by stones

We live in a competitive world, be it at work, at school, or in social media - many people try to outdo others so they can shine and be recognised.

And to accomplish what they set out to do, Christians can also be competitive. And there is one thing that Christians cannot forget and that is not to be outdone by stones.

When [Jesus] reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen. “Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the LORD! Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!”

But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, “Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!” He replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!”
(Luke 19.37-40 NLT)

If our actions and words do not praise God, the stones might be louder than us. May that not be the case.

Our life needs to be a praise offering to God such that others would give glory to him.
