What "altars" have we not destroyed?

Some may have physical altar in our house before we became Christians. Most did not and yet had an altar or two inside our hearts and minds. And these non-physical "altars" might be difficult to recognise.

Did we get rid of them when we decided to follow Jesus? Do we even know they are still there or are they in our blind spot - a part of our everyday life such that we do not recognise them as altars?

Their very presence are "thorns in our sides" and "constant temptation". Let us look inside carefully and remove all "altars". Let Jesus be the only one in our hearts.
