Floodgates are gates that "can be opened or closed to control a flow of water". (Cambridge Dictionary) In a network of waterways, the opening and closing of the floodgates will direct the water to flow / travel through specific route(s) to accomplish the objective of the planner.

God is the ultimate planner in our life. He opens some gates and closes others to direct our life to accomplish his objective.

Sometimes we have to go through a difficult route, but not always.

Sometimes God closes some gates to give us a better blessing.

In the past year I have been working on some projects and they will not come to fruition as I have hoped. But this is not because he did not answer my prayer.

God closing some gates is actually his way of answering my prayer.

Despite him closing the floodgates on the above projects, he is directing my attention to his blessings. I recently reviewed my financial situation and I am financially where I asked God to be.

And FatMonk.org was not one of the projects that I planned. It happened in the spur of the moment few months ago. I have enjoyed doing it and have enjoyed God in the process more and more.

God's Spirit interceded for my prayers to redirect the "water flow".
