Waiting on the Lord is difficult during hard times, when things are going bad and we are waiting for God's deliverance. But when things are alright, we may also wonder, shouldn't we be doing something for God, now, instead of who knows when?

Wait on the Lord. If he does not tell us to make a move, our effort will be in vain, even with the best of intention.

It does not mean we can squander our time! While we wait on the Lord, we ought to get closer and closer to him. Read the bible. Pray. Be in fellowship with other believers. Give to the needy and to ministries.

The closer we are to God, the more sensitive we will be to his instruction when he tells us to do something for him.

I don't know about you, but I dislike waiting, so I need God to help me trust him and wait on him. I suppose this is his way of reminding me to abandon all control to him and let him steer my life.
