Climate change is real. Many smart scientists argue how bad and what causes it and I am not one of them. But I like trees and nice parks and gardens.

God wants us to be discerning when it comes to trees. In Deuteronomy 20.19-20, he gave explicit instructions to the Israelites regarding trees.

When you are attacking a town and the war drags on, you must not cut down the trees with your axes. You may eat the fruit, but do not cut down the trees. Are the trees your enemies, that you should attack them? You may only cut down trees that you know are not valuable for food. Use them to make the equipment you need to attack the enemy town until it falls.

Concrete jungle is a testament to the amazing capability of what mankind can build. And there is a lot to praise God for it. But their complexity pales in comparison to the wonder of nature that God created.

I understand the world has changed in the past thousands of years. Concrete jungle is here to stay. But I still think it would be better if we have more trees and parks.
