Same verse, new understanding
We may read some things in the Bible every day for a year and they may mean nothing to us. Then, because we have been obedient to God in some small detail, we suddenly see what God means and His nature is instantly opened up to us. (Oswald Chambers)
All the promises of God find their Yes in him. (2 Corinthians 1:20 ESV)
How do we empathise with others? Usually, it happens when we have gone through something similar. We know the pain or joy from first hand experience. And thus we empathise.
When we re-read a Bible passage or verse, new understanding can come from new life experience that gives us new insight into how that verse can relate in our life. Or we may gain a much deeper appreciation for it.
"How many times do I need to re-read the Bible over?" I do not think that is the point.
The point is that we change over time and therefore new understanding of the Bible can come from it. The Bible is so rich that we would not exhaust it no matter how many times we re-read it over.
Never stop reading (or re-reading) the Bible.
