Choose the joy of Christ

"The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don't want, drink what you don't like, and do what you'd rather not." (Mark Twain)

Ha, ha. 😄

I think culinary knowledge has come a long way that we can cook healthy food deliciously. It may take a bit more effort, but if it is enjoyable and good for me, why not?

Apostle Paul wrote:

"So the trouble is not with the law, for it is spiritual and good. The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin. I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. ... Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord."

~ Romans 7.14,15,24,25 NLT

The joy of Christ and the pleasure of sin are different. I need to understand and appreciate the joy in the things that delight Jesus Christ and dwell on them. Instead of comparing tit for tat against the pleasure of sin - this is pointless.

The joy of Christ is powerful and peaceful at the same time. I want to desire it and find God's blessings in the pursuit of Christ.
