When we love someone dearly, we want to do what is best for him/her and to please him/her. The last thing in our mind is to bring sorrow to this person.

Likewise in our relationship with God.

Do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.

So let us live in the way that is pleasing the Holy Spirit who sees everything we do and knows our thoughts.
