Survivorship bias also exists in Christianity. We see and hear those "who made it" - their testimonies strengthen us and inspire us. Praise God.

At the same time we need to have discernment that relationship with God cannot be reduced down to formulas.

God's plan for you and me are unique to you and me. It may follow similar pattern to others. But it may not.

Jesus had eleven surviving disciples and only a few of them had their writings included in the New Testament. But each of them accomplished God's purpose. Each of them finished their faith journeys victorious for God.

Yes, there are good patterns out there to follow. But don't forget that God sees us for who we truly are. Focus on him and him alone. He has a plan for each of us.
