Survivorship bias (part 2)

"Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel – all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him." (1 Kings 19.18 NIVUK)

Aside from the above verse, we never read about the individual stories of each of the "seven thousand". Obviously they had been faithful to God. And God used them to accomplish his purpose.

Life would not be easy for them to live under an evil earthly king and everyone around them worshipped other gods. But they persisted in their faith and survived.

I would love to read their stories. Probably not as dramatic as Elijah's stories, but I can relate to that. Maybe more so, as they probably faced daily struggles that I face too.

Thank God that my ordinary mundane life is not as colourful as Elijah's life. But I want to be faithful and be used like those "seven thousand".

Lord,
help me to always be faithful to you.
