Misunderstanding

Jesus' "triumphant entry" into Jerusalem (John 12.12-19) that is remembered during the "Palm Sunday" has a political symbolism of its day. The crowd thought Jesus came to replace the Romans rule.

But he comes to replace the sin and idols in everyone who trusts him. "Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity." (John 12.25 NLT)

And "If you trust me, you are trusting not only me, but also God who sent me. For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me. I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark." (John 12.44-46 NLT)

Frequently I also misunderstand God's intention due to my bias, desires, and pride. My flesh gets in the way.

Lord,
help me to always be in touch
with your Spirit
that my heart may walk
in accordance to your will.
