Take him in
"When evening came, Jesus' disciples went down to the lake, got into a boat, and went back across the lake towards Capernaum. Night came on, and Jesus still had not come to them. By then a strong wind was blowing and stirring up the water. The disciples had rowed about five or six kilometres when they saw Jesus walking on the water, coming near the boat, and they were terrified.
“Don't be afraid,” Jesus told them, “it is I!” Then they willingly took him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached land at the place they were heading for."
(John 6.16-21 GNB)
If I see a ghost, would I take him/her in?
I have never encountered one, but I most likely would not.
If trouble comes knocking on the door, would I open the door?
What if trouble announces: "Don't be afraid. It is I, Jesus." Would I take him in?
"The LORD says, ‘When Babylonia's seventy years are over, I will show my concern for you and keep my promise to bring you back home. I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for."
(Jeremiah 29.10-11 GNB)
