A day has twelve hours

"
Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. Yet when he received the news that Lazarus was ill, he stayed where he was for two more days. Then he said to the disciples, “Let us go back to Judea.”

“Teacher,” the disciples answered, “just a short time ago the people there wanted to stone you; and are you planning to go back?”

Jesus said, “A day has twelve hours, hasn't it? So whoever walks in broad daylight does not stumble, for they see the light of this world. But if they walk during the night they stumble, because they have no light.”
"

(John 11.5-10 GNB)

Although his heart longed to be with Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, Jesus stayed two more days. Because he had something he needed to finish.

"The people there wanted to stone" him, but he went anyway. Because he was going to "bring glory to God" (v4).

In those days, people go places during daytime. "If they walk during the night they stumble, because they have no light."

Yes, miracles can break constraints. But miracles happen only because God commission them. If not, they will not happen. I must listen to God. He only commissions miracles to accomplish his purpose, not mine.

I need to know when to do and when not to do.

There are things I want to do, places I want to go. I cannot always pick up my stuffs and go or do them. Life fits in a big picture. There are various constraints that I need to work with. God willing, someday, I will.
