Which God?

What is your definition of God's attribute?

For many people, God is not God if he is not all-knowing, all-powerful, all-loving, etc, etc. And when life circumstances bring them to a place where God does not act as they imagined he would, it tests their faith.

Another way to go about this is to follow an entity or persona who is God. Our understanding of this God is limited and flawed. And the only way to truly understand him, if at all possible, is when we meet him after we die. In the meantime, we learn about him as we go about living our lives.

I am of the second type. And I choose to follow the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

"If the God whom we serve is able to save us from the blazing furnace and from your power, then he will. But even if he doesn't, Your Majesty may be sure that we will not worship your god, and we will not bow down to the gold statue that you have set up."

(Daniel 3.17-18 GNB)

Oh Lord - God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
please give me a faith like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
