'Awake' is different from 'got up'. I can be awake from my sleep and still lay in bed. And even if I get up, I may not be mentally engaged after I have my cup of coffee or tea and maybe a nice shower.

Even then, there are certain hours or condition during the day when I can be at my peak productivity, creativity, etc.

This applies also to spriritual life.

Spiritually awake is not the same as got up, engaged, nor productive. Never settle for just spiritually awake!

Reminds me of the parable of the sower. Usually explained differently, but I find some parallel to the above, if you would humour me.

“Once there was a man who went out to sow corn. As he scattered the seed in the field,

• some of it fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.
• Some of it fell on rocky ground, where there was little soil. The seeds soon sprouted, because the soil wasn't deep. But when the sun came up, it burnt the young plants; and because the roots had not grown deep enough, the plants soon dried up.
• Some of the seed fell among thorn bushes, which grew up and choked the plants.
• But some seeds fell in good soil, and the plants produced corn; some produced 100 grains, others sixty, and others thirty.”
