What goes through my mind when my superior or my boss or someone in higher authority evaluates my output and asks: "Is that the best you can do?"

There are two options.

"Yes." I gave it my all, but I was too weak or too stupid to do any better.

Or "Not really." I did not feel like it. I did not think it was worth my best effort. Or I did not think they deserve my best. Or it was less important than this other thing I am pursuing for myself. Etc, etc.

But when the Lord asks me, "Is that the best you can do?" What will be my answer?

"Be always humble, gentle, and patient. Show your love by being tolerant with one another.

Do your best to preserve the unity which the Spirit gives by means of the peace that binds you together."
