Amongst friends a families, we usually have good intentions for each other. But miscommunication and misunderstanding are common occurrences. "I thought you would ..." or "I expected you to ..." and such. Temper flares up.

And yet, when I do not do as God expects of me, he does not get angry. He is patient with me. And I thank God for it.

Between God and me, if I misunderstand, then it is on me. Does God's voice sound muddled because he is mumbling or is it because I have something in my ears? Is God's words difficult to understand because they are blurry or is it because I have specks in my eyes?

The other way does not happen. God does not misunderstand me. He knows me well and understands precisely what I pray for. But that does not mean he will do as I expect it. He will do what is good.

Not necessarily what I consider good, but what he considers good.
