“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

I like to have a plan for a lot of things. Not everything - sometimes I wing it. But on certain things, I prefer to have a plan. Over the years, a plan that came from a personal wish has become the plan that I want to accomplish.

In the past two weeks, I have been having some harrowing setbacks on some matters. The setbacks will probably prevent me, or at least make it significantly more difficult, to accomplish the plan. And this morning as I meditate on him, it just dawned on me that I have been stuck on this very plan.

What if God has a different plan? I do not know what that is, but I trust he has a better idea than me.

I cannot say that I am back to the drawing board, since I have no clue what the new plan is. And I am okay with that too. In the meantime, maybe I should just wing it and wait on him.

I am not good at waiting. But I trust him.
