The apostles had a lot of faith. They had witnessed Jesus' many miracles and had performed some themselves.

But faith did not deliver them from pain. Most of them died as martyrs.

No. Their faith kept them stay true to Jesus, despite pain. Faith delivered them through pain.

Faith does not assure pain-free life. Faith assures that God is with me through the pain.
