My recent loss is very painful. I am starting to understand why God has to humble me through this or else nothing may penetrate my pride.

I accept that “he gives and he takes away”, although this does not lessen the pain at all.

As a Christian I ought not define God’s “goodness” from the world’s perspective. “He takes away” and this does not feel good.

But I trust his heart that, in the big picture and maybe in ways I can only understand when I am in heaven, this all serves his purpose.
