"You have been raised to life with Christ, so set your hearts on the things that are in heaven ... Keep your minds fixed on things there, not on things here on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Your real life is Christ ..."

I find it extremely difficult to continuously set my heart on "the things that are in heaven". I want to, but earthly burden and fear keep diverting my heart "on things here on earth".

Daily obligations are pressing and unavoidable (for the most part) for various reasons. Heavenly matters seem distant in the future, so they feel less urgent.

Until one day someone dear passes away and the realisation comes that I, too, can go any day unannounced. And when that happens, the things on earth cease to matter. Not one bit.

My real life is Christ. My real riches is in heaven.
