Jesus did not tell me to move every mountain I encounter.

He only said that if I have enough faith, I can move a mountain. Faith that, compared to the task at hand, is like comparing the size of a grain of mustard seed to the size of a mountain. Which is to say, there is nothing that faith cannot move.

“For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

(Matthew 17.20 ESV)

But more often than not, when encountering a mountain, I should not just sit there praying - till Jesus comes again - so the mountain would move. That may accomplish nothing.

God's will lies beyond the mountain. To get there, I may need to move the mountain. Or, more likely, I may need to move around the mountain to get to where God wants me to be.
