Some people trade off character for wealth or glory. They cheat or lie or misinform in order to accomplish personal gain. They do not think character needs to be upheld.

I do not think God sees it that way. I know in my life God wants me to uphold character. Character may not be comfortable nor popular at times, but God wants me to be Christlike in everything I do.

"We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation."
