What is the first thing that I think about when I wake up? It can be anything. From wondering what dream I just woke up from or what I have to do for the day or the troubles that are waiting for me.

Despite all that, I remind myself to pray to God. Simple short prayer before I get on with my day.

It is good to acknowledge him as the source of my strength and joy and peace.

Morning prayer is not a magic incantation to guarantee the day will go pleasantly. It does not work that way. Prayer reflects my faith in God that he is always with me, no matter how the day goes.
