I do not understand people who think they can hide something from God. Even if they do not do it intentionally, sometimes people think God does not know the real reason behind this or that.

They want things to please themselves and things that they think the world approves. And they reason with God to give them what they want.

".. but God knows your hearts. For the things that are considered of great value by human beings are worth nothing in God's sight."

Being honest with God is freeing. God probes my heart and helps me understand my wants.

And I should not get attached to the things that the world tells me I want.

I want what God wants.
