They shared everything

"All the believers were one in heart and mind. No-one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.

With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there was no needy person among them.

For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need."

(Acts 4.32-35 GNB)

This kind of sharing was not recorded in many places in the New Testament. And it is unclear how long it was practiced.

Everything comes from God and belongs to God. And if everyone hears clearly God's will for their possessions, trusts God for his countenance, and obeys, then such sharing can happen.

The challenge is not God's provision. God has proven again and again that he is able to provide. The challenge is man's faith in God's will for their possessions against their own desires and man's distrust of each other.

I wonder what impact it would have these days, if a group of believers become "one in heart and mind" to the point that "they share everything they have".
