On miracles

"As a result of what the apostles were doing, sick people were carried out into the streets and placed on beds and mats so that at least Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. And crowds of people came in from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing those who were ill or who had evil spirits in them; and they were all healed."

(Acts 5.15-16 GNB)

As far as miracles went, the apostles accomplished amazing feats. But compared to the entire content of the Book of Acts, the book did not take much time talking about the miracles. Content-wise, the miracles were minor features of the Acts.

More important works were the spread of the gospel and the development of congregations. Yes, Luke the author of the book was not eyewitness to those miracles and maybe did not get the opportunity to talk to the eyewitnesses, since he was travelling with Paul. But God could have arranged something.

Miracles are awesome, but in many cases the impact is short-lived. Lasting impact can only happen through total change of the mind and heart for God.

God wanted the New Testament readers to not focus on miracles.

Miracle focuses on me only receiving physical blessing. God wants me to focus on more important blessings and be the channel of the blessings.
