"And so the word of God continued to spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem grew larger and larger, and a great number of priests accepted the faith."

The High Priest and members of the Council were very much against the apostles' teaching about Jesus. And yet "a great number of priests" accepted Jesus.

These priests did not follow blindly.

They listened to the Spirit and chose accordingly.

And so the ragtag leadership team of lay people gained educated priests to help them strengthen the early church in Jerusalem.

be sensitive to the Spirit's voice
