People spotter

"Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught a great many people. And in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians."

(Acts 11.25-26 GNB)

Previously in Acts 9, Barnabas vouched for Saul's conversion which enabled Saul to serve there. Later on, the brothers in Jerusalem sent Saul back to Tarsus for his safety. Saul was from Tarsus and, I speculate, Saul would focus his preachings to the Jews in Tarsus.

In Acts 11, Barnabas saw a mission opportunity in Antioch and brought Saul out of Tarsus to preach in Antioch. And thus start the big movement amongst the Gentiles.

Barnabas was sensitive to other people's callings and gifts. And he put together the right team for the right job when the need arose.
