Behind the scenes

In Acts 12, we learn that Herod killed James the brother of John. And so further references to James is for the brother of Jesus, who was a recognised prominent leader amongst the Christians in Jerusalem. But how the brother of Jesus became a follower and then rose to be a Christian leader is not recorded in the New Testament.

Or the helpers in Acts 6. There were seven of them, but we only read the stories of Stephen and Philip, but not the other five.

Some people get publicity. Others stay out of publicity and just get the job done. The people behind the scene are no less important than those on stage. Without them, those on stage would not have any stage to begin with.

So let's appreciate the people who do not get the limelight in the ministry and work hard for the kingdom and spread the good news about Jesus. They are the unsung heroes and heroines of faith.
