I enjoy watching the sky during sunrise and sunset. The scene can be magical when the circumstances are right.

During sunset, the sun crosses the horizon quicker than I might have hoped, but the light changes gradually. The sky is still enjoyable even after the sun disappears completely beyond the horizon.

Sunrise is different. It happens and finishes quickly. The sky would still be dark when I can see the glimmer of the sunlight on the horizon. The sky is beautiful and gradually brightens. And then the whole sky becomes bright quickly once the sun reaches a certain point beneath the horizon. There is no subtle progression like during sunset.

To catch the best sunrise, I need to be at the right time and place; and I need to be looking toward the sun. Or else I would miss the beautiful moment.

Likewise with many things in life. If I am not paying close attention, I can miss the “sunrise” moment in my life.
