Whether detour is positive or negative depends on my perspective.

When I need to get somewhere on time, a detour can make me late. When I am travelling according to a planned route, a detour can make me miss visiting some places.

When I am at leisure and have an open travel plan, i.e. just wandering around, the detour is the plan. Go where the whim takes. Detour can bring pleasant surprises. Not always. But some of my enjoyable travels seemed to be that way.

Daily life can be that way too. At times, God sends me on life detours. How I feel and what I get out of the detours depend on how I treat the detours. I can choose to get annoyed and try to get through them as fast as possible. Or I can choose to trust God and enjoy the detours.

Dear God
please help me to always trust you fully
and in your peace enjoy the detours
