Aiming for heaven

What does "go to heaven" mean? What is "heaven"? What is the alternative?

Interesting questions.

There are passages in the Bible that talk about "heaven"; they are old Jewish-centric descriptions. I do not relate very well to them. And yet the idea of "going to heaven" is a central concept in why I sought out faith and which led me to Jesus.

A person who is not interested to go to heaven, probably, would not be interested in faith. Heaven and faith are intertwined. Having said that, there are cultures / religions whose ideas of faith and afterlife are different from Christian idea of faith and heaven.

The belief of what this heaven would be like, influences people's behaviours. Is it worth living according to the faith to be able to be in this "heaven"?

I am still learning. My idea of "heaven" would be to live in the loving presence of God. Unconstrained by "where".

And it is worth living according to Jesus' words.
