Owning up the blame
"When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul gave his whole time to preaching the message, testifying to the Jews that Jesus is the Messiah. When they opposed him and said evil things about him, he protested by shaking the dust from his clothes and saying to them, “If you are lost, you yourselves must take the blame for it! I am not responsible. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”"
(Acts 18.5-6 GNB)
Those who claim to be Christians have had their chances to hear about the Gospel and the teachings of Jesus. They may not oppose openly, but they oppose nonetheless through their choices as Christians when they do not live according to the teachings.
On judgement day, Jesus will separate "the sheep and the goats" amongst those who claim to be Christians. (Matthew 25.31-46) And those who Jesus rejects only have themselves to blame, because they chose to live as they please, not as is pleasing to Jesus. They chose to place importance on the worldly treasures, not on heavenly treasures.
Lord, I love you
and I want to please you
Please help me live according to your will
