My neighbour (3)
"Love your neighbour as you love yourself." This command does not come with "except so and so." Sounds good in theory, but it is a difficult command to apply in practice.
And at the same time, it is a key command of the faith.
"Let love make you serve one another. For the whole Law is summed up in one commandment: “Love your neighbour as you love yourself.” But if you act like wild animals, hurting and harming each other, then watch out, or you will completely destroy one another." (Galatians 5.13-15 GNB)
"You will be doing the right thing if you obey the law of the Kingdom, which is found in the scripture, “Love your neighbour as you love yourself.” But if you treat people according to their outward appearance, you are guilty of sin, and the Law condemns you as a lawbreaker." (James 2.8-9 GNB)
"The commandments, “Do not commit adultery; do not commit murder; do not steal; do not desire what belongs to someone else” — all these, and any others besides, are summed up in the one command, “Love your neighbour as you love yourself.” If you love someone, you will never do them wrong; to love, then, is to obey the whole Law." (Romans 13.9-10 GNB)
Lord,
I love you;
please help me love my neighbour as I love myself
