The Philistine army - a lot of people - trusted in Goliath. Same like many of us who trusted in a strong and charismatic leader. But strong leader can fall. And the Bible warns especially of the arrogant.

"Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall."

Humility is a key attribute of godliness. A godly person knows he / she is nothing if not for the Lord.

"I am the vine, and you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without me."
