Pop culture Christmas movies frequently depict stories of change. Frequently something unpleasant happens followed by Christmas uplift and then, "voila!", life is good.

For many of us, real life Christmas does not happen that way. But it should not stop me, should it? What is one change that I want to see in my life for Christmas? And how should I pray for it?

And one year from now, what would be my thought about this specific ask, since as the saying goes, "be careful what you ask for"?

I do not think a Christmas prayer is any different from a prayer at any other time. But Christmas is a season for reflection and for remembering God's gift, so maybe I will remember about it next year. Maybe.

If only I know what I want to ask.
