Jesus is real

Be careful with how the world misleads.

“Brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees. It is with respect to the hope of the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial.” And when he had said this, a dissension arose between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided. For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all. Then a great clamour arose, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees' party stood up and contended sharply, “We find nothing wrong in this man. What if a spirit or an angel spoke to him?”

(Acts 23.6-9 ESV)

Debates on beliefs have caused many splits in societies. And the idea of Santa Claus, harmless as he seems, is cheerful but misleading. Is Santa Claus real? It is impossible for him to know who is good and who is bad. It is impossible for him to be able to provide gifts for people around the world at the same time in one go. It is impossible that he still gives gifts even to those who are bad. It is unthinkable that he would give gifts for free. Most adults do not believe Santa Claus is real.

What about God who - only by grace - sends his Son to die for everyone? Free gifts of salvation to those who believe in Jesus Christ? Is this God real? Is Jesus Christ real?

I do not know Santa Claus, but I personally know this Jesus Christ. He is real. God is real. And he forgives.
