The Christian faith has its root in the Jewish faith of the Old Testament. It is a conviction that God chose Abraham and David, through whom the promise of salvation came true for all mankind through Jesus' death on the cross.

The promise of "the good things to come" is for everyone who believes Jesus, including you and me.
