Rahab

"It was faith that kept the prostitute Rahab from being killed with those who disobeyed God, for she gave the Israelite spies a friendly welcome."

(Hebrews 11.13 GNB)

Who Rahab was when the Israelite spies met her was clearly acknowledged: she was a prostitute. Who Rahab became was also clearly acknowledged: a faith role model and the bloodline of King David (Matthew 1.5-6).

God seeks out repentant heart. A heart that chooses to abandon her / his old life in exchange for things not yet seen.

“We are not people who turn back and are lost. Instead, we have faith and are saved. To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot see.”

(Hebrews 10.39-11.1 GNB)

Regardless what the world promises, they all pale in comparison to the priceless love of God to me. The knowledge of how priceless God's love is and the certainty of his promise are more than enough to keep me going and not turn back.

Thanks be to God.
