It is easier to assess other people's judgment call after the fact, long after the implications have become clear. "If I were him, I would not have done that." Easier said than done. Maybe if I were Esau, I might have done something equally egregious.

I make decisions now based on what I know and assume. The outcome is not always within my control. Specifically to life after death, when I die, what happens then is an outcome of what I decide now. By then, I cannot change it anymore.

I hope at that time I will find that I am not like Esau.
