Imagine a cake with fruits scattered unevenly on or in it. When the cake is thinly sliced, some slices may have the fruit that I like and others may not. If I have a preference and I can see which slice has my preference and I can choose that slice, then I will choose that.

But life does not always work out that way. Frequently I would not know nor get to choose. I know what I know and get what I get.

I ought not fret the slices that I did not get. I am thankful for everything and trust God as best I can.
