"I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?

Jesus freed me of my sins and death. His death on the cross means God forgives my sins. And when my physical body dies one day, my spirit continues to live in God's presence.

I can live my life here on earth while looking forward to that day when my spirit will detach from this body. The spirit will live on forever.

This is more important than the short lifespan of my earthly body. So I ought to prioritise the well being of my spirit and my relationship with God.
