Frame of reference

“Contextual absolutism” reads like an oxymoron, but absolutism has been abused and misused when taken in the wrong frame of reference. Many leaders claim that X is absolute so therefore Y is also absolute via whatever logic benefits them.

However, I think if X is absolute, then only X is absolute. Y might be an interpretation of X - correctly or incorrectly - and I would not elevate Y to the level of “absolute”.

Only the absolute authority can attest that X is absolute. And if this authority does not elevate Y to be absolute, then absolutely nobody can elevate Y to the level of “absolute”.

You and I are not the absolute authority in this universe. I believe there exists one absolute authority which I call God. And this is my frame of reference in life.
