Natural leather on shoes, bags, etc can be treated to restore and enhance the look and the properties. There are natural balms and creams that can do wonders to old leather goods. The effect is not permanent due to wear and I would need to re-apply the balm or cream to restore or enhance the leather from time to time.

My faith also gets beaten up from daily "wear and tear" and needs to be maintained.

The Holy Spirit has the right balm for that. And I need to rely on the Holy Spirit, not the world, to sustain me.
