Simplification journey

"If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me."

On a recent trip, I found two items that I really wanted to buy. They suited me really well.

But I did not.

I sort of need them, but I can do without, for the time being. So I decided not to buy them. I want to learn not to insist on my own way. I still have a long way to simplify and reduce the number of my possessions, but maybe this is a milestone to start my simplification journey.

First, I ought to resist the urge to buy on impulse. Second, I ought to give away or throw away things I do not use anymore. Third, I ought to buy mindfully.
