Many people in art and sport go into great length to practice or train themselves to reach a certain level of performance or/and enjoyment. They did not start like that, but eventually they experienced a threshold where they decided to go further.

The experience changed their outlook and their commitment in turn changed their routines and behaviours.

Likewise in following Christ. Once I experienced and enjoyed him, there was no turning back.
