"That evening Jesus’ disciples went down to the shore to wait for him. But as darkness fell and Jesus still hadn’t come back, they got into the boat and headed across the lake toward Capernaum. Soon a gale swept down upon them, and the sea grew very rough."

There was no mobile phone back then and the disciples just stopped waiting and left Jesus behind with their boat. What were they thinking? Any which way I think about this, they ought to know that they should have waited, but they did not.
Why?
Sometimes in my life I left Jesus behind, too, without thinking. Or maybe because I thought I was smart enough to go without him. Eh, bad idea. "Soon a gale swept down upon me and the sea grew very rough."
Dear God
please help me be sensitive
to the Holy Spirit
to wait for Jesus
wherever I go
